Issue/Introduction

A license is used within the PGP Encryption Desktop (Symantec Encryption Desktop) software to enable the functionality purchased, and sets the expiration of the software.

Depending on the license you have, some or all of the functionality of the software will be available.

HOW TO: License Symantec Encryption Desktop 10.3.2 MP8 and above

Beginning with Symantec Encryption Desktop 10.3.2 MP8, unmanaged users are no longer required to submit the Name, Organization, and Email values to register the Symantec Encryption Desktop product license. These fields are no longer present in the PGP Licensing Assistant dialog box.

Note: The information included in this article supersedes any information included in the PGP Desktop User's Guides regarding license authorization.
