Issue/Introduction

This cumulative point fix contains fixes for SMP (Symantec Management Platform) and other Solutions for issues provided to customers with ITMS 8.6 RU2 until ITMS 8.6 RU3 is released/installed.

These are the fixes contained (each section contains its own set of fixes. Install those that you need from the respective zip files below)

ITMS 8.6 RU2

Resolution

SMP/SMA (Symantec Management Platform/Symantec Management Agent) Fixes:

CTA in loop tries to register with TS if persistent fails and then HTTP fails
January Cumulative Security updates prevent endpoints from registering to the task server	232242
Task Servers not balancing, then registrations fail	234726
Client Machines get disconnected from task server registration frequently. If we restart the server, it gets registered.	234726
Agents are not able to register to a task server and task servers are failing to register to themselves	234726

Red Hat Channel Import Failing	252281

ULM (Unix/Linux/Mac Agent) Fixes:

MAC machines Duplicate GUID issues
ARM only aex-smart-rule-engine.so is located under iragent/lib/ on Intel Mac, so inventory rule evaluation is failed
Not able to Import SEP Agent (Mac version) for distribution in ITMS

DS (Deployment Solution) Fixes:

Unable to delete cloned Install Windows OS tasks and duplication of packages occur
SOI tasks created before the upgrade to 8.6 RU2 fail to install Windows Server Operating Systems
High CPU usage by SBSServer in HTTPS configuration

NON-CUMULATIVE SMP (Symantec Management Platform) Fixes:

Version 1

NOTE: This is a non-cumulative (i.e. it is a stand-alone SMP side only) Pointfix. These fixes were already included under "SMA_SMP_8_6_POST_RU2_v2_7Jun.zip"

Connector: The import/Export rule does not reflect the changed schedule
Security - DeleteItem from ItemManagementService with limited permissions
After upgrading to 8.6 RU2, the browser pops up an error when creating a new metric under Monitoring and Alerting	236964

NOTE:

SMP_8_6_POST_RU2_NC_v1_15Mar.zip does not depend and does not require SMA_SMP_8_6_POST_RU2_v1_25Feb.zip Cumulative Pointfixes to be installed. However, if CUMULATIVE 8.6 POST-RU2 v1 cumulative Pointfix is already installed, SMP_8_6_POST_RU2_NC_v1_15Mar.zip can be installed on top. If "SMA_SMP_8_6_POST_RU2_v2_7Jun.zip" is already installed, this non-cumulative pointfix is no longer needed.

The main goal in releasing non-cumulative, server-side-only PF was to avoid SMA and Task Server updates required by SMA_SMP_8_6_POST_RU2_v1_25Feb.zip if the customer needs only the fixes listed above.

Version 2

NOTE: This is a non-cumulative (i.e. it is a stand-alone SMP side only) Pointfix. These fixes were already included under "SMA_SMP_8_6_POST_RU2_v2_7Jun.zip"

NOTE:

If CUMULATIVE 8.6 POST-RU2 v1 cumulative Pointfix is already installed, SMP_TS_8_6_POST_RU2_NC_v2_02May.zip can be installed on top. As well, as mentioned above, there is a run-time dependency embedded now in the PFInstaller to have SMA_SMP_8_6_POST_RU2_v1_25Feb as a prerequisite/baseline. If "SMA_SMP_8_6_POST_RU2_v2_7Jun.zip" is already installed, this non-cumulative pointfix is no longer needed.

 

Version 3
