Not able to select Package Service install on Server 2022 or Windows 11 systems

Issue/Introduction

When trying to select a Windows Server 2022 or a Windows 11 system and make it a package server, the Package Service option is grayed out.

Environment

8.6 RU2

 

Cause

Known issue. The affected machine is not getting into the collection "Potential Windows Package Servers". Appears that this collection was broken by 8.6 RU2 cumulative pointfix v1 (The original RU2 has proper config). 

Resolution

This is a bug in the v1 Cumulative Point Fix for 8.6 RU2, and fixed in v2 Cumulative Point Fix for 8.6 RU2. 

As a workaround, download the attached .xml file and import to the following location:

Browse in the Console to Manage > Filters.  Select Computer Filter folder, right-click and Import.

 

This will enable the Package Service option on Windows Server 2022 and Windows 11 systems.
