VMware Tanzu Platform Core VMware Tanzu Platform - Hub

Issue/Introduction

Users may encounter issues where applications fail to load or display correctly in the Tanzu Hub Spaces view, specifically when selecting an Organization and Space. This behavior is typically observed in large-scale environments and impacts applications recently added to the monitored Foundation, while older applications continue to appear as expected.

Environment

  • VMware Tanzu Platform - Hub 10.4.2
  • Platform Services tile (PST) 10.4.2

Cause

A deadlock is occurring in the change event queue in Platform Services components, stopping the processing of change events and leading to a backlog of queries to the CAPI events endpoint. Additionally, the Application collector full sync takes longer than the allotted 3-hour timeframe, causing intermittent timeouts in large environments.

Resolution

This issue is targeted to be fixed in a future release of Tanzu Hub and the Platform Services tile. We recommend subscribing to this article to receive updates on the fix status. Refer to How to subscribe to Knowledge Base articles for instructions.

If you encounter persistent performance issues or believe you are experiencing this deadlock:

  1. Gather Tanzu Hub and Platform Services tile logs.
  2. Review logs for timeout errors related to the hub-tas-agent or event queue processing.
  3. Contact Broadcom Support for further investigation if the issue prevents core operations. See Contact Support.
