Issue/Introduction

  • NSX upgrade fails with following error on an ESXi host:
  • The controller connectivity on the affected host is down.
  • Running CLI commands on the affected host causes SSH sessions to hang
  • Repeated attempts to launch the NSX upgrade consistently fail with the same error on the ESXi host.

Environment

VMware NSX

VMware NSX-T Data Center

Resolution

To work around this issue, reboot the impacted ESXi host to:

  • Restore SSH responsiveness

  • Clear disk space constraints (if any) hampering the NSX upgrade

If the workaround outlined above does not resolve the issue, kindly collect the NSX support bundle and open a case with Broadcom Technical Support.
