Issue/Introduction

This article explains where to find your VMware license folders and keys on the Broadcom Support Portal, making it easier to manage and retrieve them when needed.

The portal organizes license keys within dedicated folders, allowing for quick access and efficient management. With the right permissions, you can also perform self-service actions such as splitting, merging, downgrading, and upgrading licenses directly within the Licensing portal.

To access the VMware License keys on the Broadcom support portal, follow the steps outlined below

  1. Login to the Broadcom Support - My Dashboard
  2. Select My entitlements
  3. First, click on the Site Name or Number. Next, navigate to the Entitlements Details tab
  4. For Bundle products, click on the Entitlements Details of the individual products within the bundle to see the license icon.
  5. Click on License badge icon

Q. Following our renewal, having received a new Site ID from Broadcom, will this new Site ID automatically be reflected in my entitlements page?

A. The new Site ID will not be reflected automatically on your entitlements page. To request access, Refer to Adding additional Broadcom Site IDs to an existing profile
 

Q. I see the new contract details in My entitlements, But don't see the new keys in the licensing folders or getting error "Missing appropriate permissions to view"

A. Once a new order has been processed, the associated license key(s) will be placed in the HOME folder. Should you encounter issues accessing or viewing these license keys due to insufficient permissions, Refer to Missing appropriate permissions to view the VMware license keys

Q. I get the message "Access Denied" This feature has been disabled by your administrator 

A. User Administrators possess the authority to disable user access to common services like Downloads, Licensing, and Case Management. Reach out to your User Administrator to request access enablement.. If you are a user admin, please refer to Manage user permissions and Site ID access as a User Administrator
 

Q. I have access to the site ID but unable to see anything in the My entitlements page

A. If you have site ID access and your support contracts have expired, uncheck the 'Active' checkbox on the entitlements page to view inactive products. Refer, Unable to view licenses or download products for Broadcom, CA, Symantec, or VMware products

Q. Where are the VCF & VVF V9 License keys?

A. Starting with version 9.0 of VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) and VMware vSphere Foundation (VVF), you license your environment by using a VCF Operations instance and the VMware Cloud Foundation Business Services console (vcf.broadcom.com). Subscription-based license files replace the use of the 25-character license keys.

Q. How to access the VCF & VVF V9 Licenses?

A. The Product Admin's can access the VCF 9 & VVF 9 licenses in the VCF Portal, vcf.broadcom.com. To request the role, follow Request the Product Administrator role
