Issue/Introduction

As a User Administrator, Product Administrator or User with the elevated permissions to "Manage Folder", looking to manage user permissions for accessing folders on the Licensing page. This includes adding, updating, and removing or revoking user access to a folder.

Important: Before proceeding to adding a user, make sure the user has access to the Site ID in which the folder/license key is residing. If the user does not have an account in the Broadcom software portal, have the user refer to Register for an account on the Broadcom Support Portal and Communities

Resolution

Once you become a user administrator, Product Administrator or User with the elevated permissions to "Manage Folder", please follow the steps to manage permissions for a user to the respective folder/s.

  • The User Administrator or Product Administrator on the Broadcom Support Portal can manage access to all Folders within a Site ID
  • While an Enterprise User with the elevated permissions to "Manage Folder" can manage Users on Folder Level only.

    Please follow the following steps to manage permissions for a user.
  1. Log in to Broadcom support portal
  2. In the left menu, select My Entitlements
  3. Go to Company name/Site ID, Product name, and under Licenses, click the appropriate license icon.

This opens the License folder management page to perform the below functions:

Add users to a folder

From the Licensing page:

  1. Select the Site ID.
  2. In the left menu, click on the appropriate Folder.
  3. Click the Users tab.
  4. Click Add Users.




  5. Enter the email address, select the appropriate permissions for the user, and click Add.



  6. If the user is added successfully, the user will show up in the user's list.

Edit user permissions for a folder

From the Licensing page:

  1. Select the Site ID
  2. In the left menu, click on the appropriate Folder.
  3. Click the Users tab.
  4. Click the ⋮ (3-dot icon), select Edit Permissions, make the appropriate changes, and click Update to save the changes.



Move users to a folder

From the Licensing page:

  1. Select the Site ID.
  2. In the left menu, click on the appropriate Folder.
  3. Click the Users tab.
  4. Select the user, and either click on Move Users or click the ⋮ (3-dot icon), and then select Move User.
  5. Verify the user email, click the *To - Dropdown, select the destination folder, and click Move.


Remove a user

From the Licensing page

  1. Select the Site ID.
  2. In the left menu, click on the appropriate Folder.
  3. Click the Users tab.
  4. For the intended user, click the ⋮ (3-dot icon), and click Remove User.
