SNMPCollector template applied with Data ON but Alarm OFF shows Both Data and Alarm ON

Issue/Introduction

We noticed we are NOT seeing alarms from out SNMPCollector like normal, since we adjusted the template the other day, however when we look the Default template is showing as applied to all our devices, and the template also shows the Data Collection and Alarms should be ON, however when we go to the interfaces in the SNMPCollector and look we see Data Collection ON and Alarms OFF for devices? Why would this be and how can we fix it?

Environment

• Release: 20.1 or higher
• Component: UIM - SNMPCOLLECTOR

Resolution

Execute the snmpcollector apply_templates callback via the snmpcollector probe utility. (Ctrl-P)

Wait a while to see if that fixes the issue, If not, then try to force component rediscovery for the device. If that does not work, deactivate the main Template, save the change. Verify that the template is removed from the interface for the device, then Activate the template.

 

If that doesn't resolve the issue, double-check the template that is applied to the devices. See if it has the correct box checked for the desired outcome, e.g., enable or disable Publish Alarms.  If so, correct the setting, then apply the template and check the result.
