Issue/Introduction

Increasing the java memory limit can be helpful with Microsoft Project (MSP) Performance issues when opening projects from Clarity or saving larger projects back to MSP. This KB provides the steps on how to do this.

Environment

Release: All Supported Releases
Component: Clarity Microsoft Project Interface

Resolution

  1. On the workstation, navigate to the computer registry (Click on Start > Run and type in "regedit")
  2. Navigate to the folder: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Niku\Schedulers\MSPOptions
  3. Right click the MSPOptions folder and select New>String Value
  4. Change the name to "JavaMemoryLimit"
  5. Change the value data to 512. If that doesn't help, try a higher value (such as 800)
