Issue/Introduction

"Use filter builder" privilege is not available after upgrade to ITMS 8.6 RU1

Note: This privilege is available after clean installation of ITMS 8.6 RU1

or when editing a pre-existing filter, the option for "Add Filter Criteria" is missing or not longer available for a security role that used to see it:

The current account does not have "Use Filter Builder" Privilege to modify the filter definition.

Cause

Resolution

For 8.6 RU1

Please try the following steps:

1. Run this SQL query (attached as filter-builder-priv.sql).
If you can't run the provided query directly on your SQL Management Studio against the database, you can use a SQL Query task from the SMP Console:

a) Go to SMP Console>Manage>Jobs and Tasks. You can create a new folder or use an existing one. Select folder>Right-click> New>Task>Run SQL Query on Server)

b) Paste the provided attached query. Select "Save query output: Text" and save the task.

c) Run the Task.

2. Now this "Use Filter Builder" privilege will be available.

For 8.6 RU2 and 8.6 RU3

If you upgraded to 8.6 RU2 or RU3 and you are missing the "Add Filter Criteria" button, make sure you provide access to the "Use Filter Builder" privilege in order to get that option back to your security role.
