Issue/Introduction

Unable to make updates on particular projects if the user is not the project manager, even though the user has the below access:

  • Project - Edit Management access.
  • project - task management on impacted projects
  • Part of the PMO Project management extended group

Error: API 1007: You are not authorized to process requests. Contact your system administrator for necessary security rights.

The user has been able to perform such actions prior to upgrading to 15.9.2. Issues include:

  • Updating tasks on the task list
  • Adding resources to tasks, even if ETC is 0.

Environment

Release : 15.9.2

Component : CA PPM SAAS USERS, GROUPS, OBS ADMINISTRATION

Cause

This seems to happen for users who do not have project manager auto rights without the To Do access

Resolution

Grant the below right(s) from the below list. These can be added at the group level or resource level. These rights are only available at the global level, but access will be restricted to only the associated objects the user has view access to.

  • To Do - Navigate
    • Allows user access to the To Do pages in the new user experience.
  • To Do - Create - All
    • Allows user to create To Dos in the new user experience for which the user has access to view associated objects.
  • To Do - Edit - Al
    • Allows user to view and edit all To Dos in the new user experience for which the user has access to view associated objects.
  • To Do - View - All
    • Allows user to view all To Dos in the new user experience for which the user has access to view associated objects.
  • To Do - Delete - All
    • Allows user to delete all To Dos in the new user experience for which the user has access to view To Dos and to view associated objects.

Note: These rights are required starting in 15.9.2 to access/edit To Dos. If you are seeing this issue not trying to access To Dos, and the above workaround is not possible to use, please reach out to Broadcom support for assistance.
