Error: vSphere HA "Image is not valid. Software Solution com.vmware.vsphere-ha cannot be found in depot" - vCenter 8.0.3

Issue/Introduction

After updating vCenter Server, vSphere HA configuration fails on image-based clusters with a "General system error" regarding invalid images and missing software components in the vLCM depot.

• vSphere HA configuration fails with: "A general system error occurred: Image is not valid. Software Solution com.vmware.vsphere-ha with version 8.0.3-25600417 cannot be found in depot. Component Cisco-nfnic cannot be found in depot."

Environment

• VMware vCenter Server 8.0.3

Cause

This issue is caused by metadata inconsistency or corruption within the vSphere Lifecycle Manager (vLCM) database and local Patch Store following a vCenter update.

Resolution

Step 1: Verify NSX Usage

• Confirm if VMware NSX is in use within the environment.
• If NSX is in use: Do not perform a manual VUM database reset. Please Contact Broadcom Support to open a case for assistance.
• If NSX is NOT in use: Proceed to Step 2.
