Issue/Introduction

  • After decommissioning a VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) instance, the instance entry remains visible within the VCF Automation user interface (UI).
This occurs even if the instance has been successfully removed from VCF Operations or Fleet LCM.
  • Navigating to VMware Cloud Foundation Automation | Provider Management >> VCF Instances, the decommissioned VCF instance references appear in the UI.

Environment

VCF Automation 9.1

Cause

The VCF Automation UI may retain stale inventory records if the microservices responsible for inventory reconciliation do not receive or process the deletion event from the VCF Fleet.
This is currently being tracked as a known issue.

Resolution

Broadcom is aware of this issue and plans to deliver a fix in a future release. For updates on the fix status, please subscribe to this article.
