Error: U00021719 Syntax error - Variables defined in Headers not resolving in Pre-process

Issue/Introduction

Variables set within Header objects (e.g., HEADER.WINDOWS.USER.PRE, HEADER.WINDOWS.USER.HEAD and HEADER.WINDOWS.USER.START) fail to resolve when referenced in the Pre-process. These JOBI objects are called in HEADER.WINDOWS if these exist in client 0 or other client.

Symptoms

• Jobs fail with error: U00021719 Syntax error in object '####', line '####'. U01001308 Variable '####' has not yet been defined.
• Variables work correctly in the Process tab but fail in Pre-process.

Environment

• Automic SaaS v24.6.0 HF3/HF4/HF5
• Automic Automation Engine v26.0.0

 

Cause

Identified as a product regression where variables set in the generation phase of a Header include are not passed to the Pre-script phase. This is tracked under Defect DE209101.

Resolution

Solution:

Update to a fix version listed below or a newer version if available.
