Issue/Introduction

A JSON export of a PromptSet object triggered via REST API contains inconsistent or old references after a VARA object used as a data source for a ComboBox is renamed.

  • A VARA object is renamed using the "Rename & Update Selected" option.
  • The PromptSet object appears updated in the Automic Web Interface (AWI).
  • A REST API call to export the PromptSet (e.g., GET /ae/api/v1/{client}/objects/{object_name}) returns a JSON file where the data.prpt.elements.reference is updated, but the reference inside the embedded XUI JSON string is not.
  • Re-importing the exported JSON results in broken references to the old VARA name.

Environment

  • Automic Automation Engine V24
  • Automic Automation Engine V26

Cause

The "Rename & Update Selected" option does not correctly update the embedded XUI JSON string within PromptSet ComboBox elements. This is identified as defect DE208220.
