Understand the cascading effects of performing a tenant deletion in the Symantec Identity Security Platform (IDSP). This article clarifies whether associated applications, policies, and configurations are permanently removed from the database.

• Does deleting a tenant cascade to its applications, policies, and other configurations?
• Are these configurations removed from the database or do they remain as stale entries?

Resolution

Tenant deletion is a cascading operation. When a tenancy is deleted, the system automatically removes all associated artifacts from the database. This ensures no stale data remains.

Items removed during the deletion process include:

1. OIDC Applications: All client applications registered under the tenant.
2. Authentication Policies: All policies and constituent rules mapped to the tenant or its applications.
3. Identity Store Data: Internal users and associated credentials stored within the tenant scope.
4. Risk Configurations: Tenant-level and application-level risk rule configurations.

Warning: This action is permanent. Ensure all necessary configurations are documented or backed up before proceeding, as data cannot be recovered once the cascading removal is complete.
