Issue/Introduction

• Deployment of VMSP components during 9.0 to 9.1 upgrade fails at 'Deploy VCF Management Components' stage
• KB 441858 has been implemented to clean up legacy components from VCF Operations
• You have verified that the vRNI certificate does not have any issues  (KB 440459)
• As part of troubleshooting the VCF Operations certificate was replaced.
• Retying the failed task fails again at the same stage
• The error indicates a certificate thumbprint mismatch issue:

Provided SSL thumbprint 'D2:XX:##:##:##:##:##:##:XX:##:##:##:##:##:##:##:##:##:##:##:##:##:##:##:##:##:##:3D' does not match the certificate's thumbprint '##:##:##:##:##:##:##:##:##:##:##:##:##:##:##:##:##:##:##:##:##:##:##:##:96'

 

 

Environment

VCF 9.1

Cause

• The original VCF Operations certificate was imported into SDDC as part of a successfully completed sub task
• When the failed task is retried the original stale thumbprint continues to be referenced and the operation fails.
