"Generate Download Token" missing in the Quick links on Broadcom Support Portal

Issue/Introduction

The "Generate Download Token" is missing from the Quick Links tab on the Broadcom Support portal. This article will help you understand why it's missing and how you can get the access to generate the token?

Cause

The "Generate Download Token" option is a special feature only available to those with the Product Administrator role for their site ID. If you don't have this role, the option won't appear in your Quick Links.

Resolution

To get the ability to generate download tokens, you'll need the Product Administrator role for your site ID.

1. Enable Product Administrator Role:

   • If you are already a User Administrator: You have the capability to grant yourself the Product Administrator role. Refer to Procedure for User Administrators to Update Their Own or Others' Access to the Support portal
   • If you are NOT a User Administrator: You will need to request the Product Administrator role. Follow the instructions from Request the Product Administrator role

2. Approval (If Not a User Administrator):

   • If your site has existing User Administrators: When you submit your request for the Product Administrator role, these existing User Administrators will be notified and are responsible for reviewing and approving your role access. It's a good idea to communicate with your site's current User Administrators to help expedite the approval process.
   • If there are no User Administrators for your site: In such cases, your request will be processed by the Broadcom Customer Care based on the prevailing support portal policies. They will review and grant the access accordingly.
     
     
3. Verify Product Division: If you're currently in the portal and can't find the option, first ensure you're in the correct product division. Look for a dropdown next to your Username (Top right corner of the portal). Click on it and select "VMware Cloud Foundation" This step is crucial for displaying the correct set of quick links for that specific product division.

Once you have the Product Administrator role and are in the correct product division, the "Generate Download Token" option will show up under your Quick Links, giving you the access you need to create download tokens for your site.
