It is possible to have a false positive within a Diagnostics for VCF Finding. We do are best to make sure all scenario are covered when creating a finding, however sometimes certain scenarios are missed or fixes are released which we have not accounted for.

Resolution

Currently have the following active findings which we are in the process of being fixing:

Last Updated: April 21, 2025.

AUTOMATION_CVE202522215_VMSA_202501

  • Comment: Findings for VMSA-2025-0001 which is resolved with Automation 8.18.1 Patch1 shows the finding after update.
  • Status: The Automation version number did not increase with the release of the patch as expected. Even with patch 24411566 installed the version is still 8.18.1.36791 Build 24282366. We are working do disable this finding in the next release of operations. We will work with the Automation team to determine the best way to track these patches in the future.

The workaround until we have a fix for this false positive is to disable the finding in your environment. Please follow the steps in the following KB to disable this findings in your Diagnostics for VCF environment.
