Issue/Introduction

This article provides information on the vRealize Operations Security Patches that resolve the issues discussed in VMSA-2021-0018 for use in upgrading via vRealize Suite Lifecycle Manager.

Resolution

Refer to the VMSA-2021-0018 for information about the security issues addressed in this update.

For vRealize Operations appliances deployed using vRealize Suite Lifecycle Manager, please follow the below mentioned steps.

• The patches for vRealize Operations Manager will be Generally Available for the application via vRealize Suite Lifecycle Manager.
• The patches will be available in both online and offline modes.

Online Upgrades

Customers whose appliances are connected to the internet will receive notifications about the patch and will be able to seamlessly deploy them from vRealize Suite Lifecycle Manager.
Note: If the Patches are not visible in Settings > Binary Mapping > Patch Binaries. Follow the below steps:

1. Click on CHECK PATCHES ONLINE  from Settings-> Binary Mapping->Patch Binaries.

Note: Once the request is completed, check if the Patches are available.

2. Verify if the Security Patch for vRealize Operations version you want to download is listed, see Settings > Product Support Pack.

Note: Patches will be listed only if vRealize Suite Lifecycle Manager supports the required vRealize Operations version.

 

Offline Upgrades

Customers can download the offline patch bundle from the VMware Patch Portal and deploy the patch using vRealize Suite Lifecycle Manager.  Select vRealize Suite Life Cycle Manager as the Product and vRealize from the drop down.  Download the patch file and upload it to vRealize Suite Lifecycle Manager.
