Issue/Introduction

This article provides information on obtaining diagnostic information for VMware Integrated OpenStack (VIO).
 
VMware Technical Support routinely request diagnostic information from you when a support request is handled. This diagnostic information contains product specific logs for analysis.


Environment

VMware Integrated Openstack 7.x

Resolution

VIO log bundle collection


To collect a log bundle from your VIO environment:
 
VIO 5.x:
  1. Login to the VMware Integrated OpenStack Management Server using SSH.
  2. Run this command to collect the logs from all of the components in the VIO deployment:
    cd /tmp
sudo viocli deployment getlogs 
  1. The log file will be located in /tmp
  VIO 7.x
  1. Log in to the management server using SSH.
  2. Run the following:
viocli generate supportbundle
  1. The log file will be located in /var/log.
