Issue/Introduction

  • Access to the workload and management domains in SDDC Manager is unavailable, instead the UI shows an error:

"Failed to load cluster details. Failed to get hosts from DB"

  • Out of band modifications have been applied to the cluster.
  • The cluster and its associated hosts are reported in a deactivating state.

Environment

  • SDDC Manager 4.x
  • SDDC Manager 5.x
  • SDDC Manager 9.0.x

Cause

This issue can occur when the cluster was manually deleted from both the vSphere Client and NSX, but has not been completely removed from SDDC Manager, resulting in stale leftovers in the SDDC Manager database.

Resolution

Contact Broadcom support for assistance with manually removed the remaining cluster references from the SDDC Manager database.
