Issue/Introduction

  • The NSX installation on the host fails with the error:

Failed to install software on host. Cannot download VIB 'https://hostupdate.vmware.com/software/VUM/PRODUCTION/vmtools-main/vmtools/vmw/vib20/tools-light/VMware_locker_tools-light_######-24283371.vib'. This might be because of network issues or the specified VIB does NOT exist or does NOT have a proper 'read' privilege set. Make sure the specified VIB exists and is accessible from vCenter Server. Host 'hostname' was not processed, the reason: 'Cannot download VIB 'https://hostupdate.vmware.com/software/VUM/PRODUCTION/vmtools-main/vmtools/vmw/vib20/tools-light/VMware_locker_tools-light_########-24283371.vib'. This might be because of network issues or the specified VIB does NOT exist or does NOT have a proper 'read' privilege set. Make sure the specified VIB exists and is accessible from vCenter Server.'
