Issue/Introduction

This article provides information about the impact of moving to Broadcom systems on some upgrade capabilities and the NSX upgrade experience.
 
The decommissioning of downloads.vmware.com has the following impact on the NSX upgrade experience:

• UI Notifications listing the NSX releases available for upgrade will NOT be available.
• You will not be able to download the release binaries automatically to the NSX appliance. 
• The NSX pre-upgrade checks bundle (PUB), that is, asynchronous prechecks or dynamic prechecks, will not be downloaded automatically to the NSX appliance. 

Cause

As of the end of July 2024, downloads.vmware.com has been decommissioned.

Resolution

• Check the Broadcom Customer Connect Portal for information on the latest NSX releases.
• Download the bits from the new Broadcom Customer Connect Portal to your local machine and then upload it to NSX Manager or host it on a local web server. For information, refer to this KB, Download Broadcom products and software.
• Manually download the latest NSX pre-upgrade check bundle from the Broadcom Customer Connect Portal. Check for the latest available pre-upgrade check bundle before starting the NSX upgrade.
