Issue/Introduction

With the introduction of SSL Visibility 4.5.10.3, 4.5.11.2 and 5.4.3.1, SSL Visibility changed the Host Categorization engine from BCWF (Blue Coat Web Filter) to BCIS (Blue Coat Intelligent Services).  When upgrading to SSLV 4.5.11.2 customers may experience an outage of Host Categorization services.

Environment

Release : 4.5.10.3, 4.5.11.2 and 5.4.3.1.

Cause

We have seen instances where the upgrade to 4.5.10.3, 4.5.11.2 and 5.4.3.1 has caused the Host Categorization downloads to fail.  This has correlated to the new BCIS Host Categorization function.  With the new service there have been issues linking/associating the add-on to a currently running box.  This has affected entitlement.

Resolution

The license will have to be downloaded after you upgrade the device to 4.5.10.3, 4.5.11.2 and 5.4.3.1. This must be done to ensure the CATS is updated to the BCIS association.

After the download action has been taken, it may take up to 120 minutes for the database license to synchronize and host categorization to start working again.
