Dell provides a method to collect hardware configuration and logs. This can be done from the command line or from the iDRAC.
Dell R630xd, R730xd, or R640 systems, also known as head units.
When there is a suspected hardware failure that is hard to determine root cause, we will want the TroubleShooting or SupportAssist file so that we can see what happened. This file is also known as a TSR.
To pull the the TSR from the iDRAC, Dell has a very good document online to assist. If you think there are RAID controller errors, be sure when collecting the logs that you select "RAID Controller log". The link is:
