MSP Run-time error '53' File not found: caMspXml.dll

Issue/Introduction

When trying to open a project from Clarity PPM to the Microsoft Project (MSP) Interface, the following error is showing:

Run-time error '53'
File not found: caMspXml.dll

Notes:

• Uninstalling/reinstalling does not help
• Confirmed it was not related to mismatched bit level:

Debug highlights
"Niku_Api.caOpenFromClarity  ' DLL call"

Environment

Release : 15.7.x, 15.8.x, 15.9.x, 16.0.x, 16.1.x

Component : CA PPM SAAS MICROSOFT PROJECT (MSP)

Resolution

Add the path to the bin folder the file is located in to System Environment Variables using the step below.

1. Copy the path to the Bin folder where the file caMspXml.dll is located. It should be similar to: C:\Program Files\CA\PPM\CA PPM MSPInterface\bin
2. On the machine, go to System Properties then click Environment Variables
3. Click Path under the second window SYSTEM VARIABLES
4. Click Edit
5. Click New
6. Paste the path copied in step 2 (IE C:\Program Files\CA\PPM\CA PPM MSPInterface\bin)
7. Click OK and OK again
