Issue/Introduction

It can be very painful and cumbersome to collect logs manually from numerous servers hosting agents, execution servers and NAC. Release Automation provides an out of box feature to easily and elegantly collect logs from numerous component servers via ASAP. We always promote our customer to use this smart feature to collect logs systematically.

Logs can be collected from 4 different components via ASAP

 1: Execution servers

2: Agent servers

3: Data Management servers

4: ASAP UI logs

 

 

 

 

Environment

Release : 6.5, 6.6, 6.7 or higher

Component : CA RELEASE AUTOMATION RELEASE OPERATIONS CENTER

Instruction on how to collect logs via ASAP:

- Logs collection process for Agents, Data Management and Execution servers:

Note: Screen shot below is referring selection of single agent, but multiple agents can be selected and logs can be collected from all those server in one operation.

Instruction on how to collect logs via ROC:

Logs of execution server and agents can be collected via ROC. Please follow steps below

1: Login to ROC

2: Go to Administration -> Agent Management 

3: In the Agent Management navigate to Agents or Execution Servers tabs as needed, select the available agents/execution server online and click on "Collect Logs"

Instruction on how to collect logs manually:

1: Login to the respective Server

2: Go to Install directory of component for example NAC, NES or Agent

3: zip/tar the complete logs directory at location <InstallDirectory>\logs
