Issue/Introduction

Objects of the following types created prior to NSX 3.2.0 no longer appear in the NSX list API
  • ProviderInterface
  • PolicyEdgeCluster
  • PolicyNatRules
  • PolicyTransportZone
  • LocaleService
  • StaticRoutes
  • PolicyDnsForwarder
  • Nat
  • Group

Environment

VMware NSX 9.1,9.1.1
VMware Cloud Foundation 9.1,9.1.1

Cause

The root cause of this issue is a missing 'parent_path' field for entries in the following tables. Since the introduction of a secondary index on the 'parent_path' field in version 9.1.0, child lookups now rely on this field; consequently, any objects missing 'parent_path' are excluded from the list API response:
  • ProviderInterface
  • PolicyEdgeCluster
  • PolicyNatRules
  • PolicyTransportZone
  • LocaleService
  • StaticRoutes
  • PolicyDnsForwarder
  • Nat
  • Group
