Broadcom is pleased to announce a change being made to the VCSP Program and how VCSPs access & manage their corresponding licenses. The following article will walk users through the new experience and highlight important actions required to ensure a smooth transition.
Effective November 1, 2026, new VCSP contracts booked through VCSP Program will be assigned the VCSP Commit Program Type. These new contracts will no longer be available in the traditional Consumption Portal, but will instead be made available on the Support Portal / Licensing module.
By relocating VCSP Commit contracts in this new location, users will be able to take advantage of several new features including:
IMPORTANT: To access the Support Portal / Licensing module to manage VCSP Commit contracts, users will need to request the Product Administrator role. The Consumption Portal role is only used to access the traditional non-VCSP Commit contacts through the Consumption Portal.
To request the Product Administrator role follow these steps:
1. Log into the Support Portal and select Request Access.
2. Select the Product Administrator tab and select Update Access.
3. Enable the Status radio button, complete the Additional Information field and select Save.
Your User Administrator or a member of the Broadcom Global Customer Assistance Team will action your role request accordingly.
Once the Product Administrator role has been approved, users can navigate to the Support Portal / My Entitlements and select the appropriate license key icon to navigate to the Licensing module.
Search by the VCSP Commit contract number to view the appropriate license keys. Click the three-dot icon next to a license key to view the various management options (Split, Move, Copy, Upgrade, Downgrade).
IMPORTANT: For additional details regarding the management of license keys through the Support Portal please see the Licensing section of the VMware to Broadcom Support Frequently Asked Questions kb article.
To manage previously booked VCSP contracts, users can continue to leverage the existing Consumption Portal available in the Broadcom Support Portal. For more details click HERE.
