Issue/Introduction

  • When configuring External IP Blocks in VCF Automation 9.1, attempts to add additional CIDRs may fail with a validation error incorrectly citing a limit of 5 IP blocks. This issue typically occurs even when the actual number of IP blocks is below the threshold.
  • Attempting to add more than 4 CIDRs to a single External IP block triggers the following error:  Cannot update IP Space #### since the number of IP Blocks associated with Provider Gateway #### cannot exceed the limit 5.
  • The error incorrectly references the Provider Gateway IP block limit (5) instead of the CIDR count within the specific block.

Environment

VMware Cloud Foundation 9.1

Cause

This issue is caused by UI validation logic that incorrectly parses the maximum allowed IP blocks on the Provider Gateway when adding CIDRs to an individual IP Space.

Resolution

Fix:

Broadcom has identified this issue and will resolve it in a future release of VCFA. To receive updates on the status of this fix, please subscribe to this article. See How to Subscribe to Broadcom Knowledge Base Articles.

Workaround:
Increase the number of CIDRs by adding a new IP block. Ensure that each new CIDR is limited to a maximum of 4 IPs.
