Inquiry regarding the vSphere 9 support roadmap and compatibility for ISG ProxySG (Edge SWG) and Content Analysis (CAS) virtual appliances.

Customers who are actively migrating to VMware vSphere 9 often inquire about the support roadmap for Edge SWG (ProxySG) and Content Analysis (CAS) virtual appliances.

Resolution

Broadcom currently provides support for Edge SWG and Content Analysis virtual appliances on VMware ESXi up to version 8.0.

At this time, there is no official roadmap or target timeline for the qualification or support of VMware vSphere 9. Virtual appliances are tested and certified against specific ESXi versions to ensure stability and security.

Recommended Actions

1. Maintain Current Environments: Keep your virtual appliance deployments on ESXi 8.0 or lower until official support is announced.

2. Monitor Documentation: Regularly check the official Broadcom Product Documentation for updates to the supported hypervisor matrices:

   • Edge SWG (ProxySG) VA Supported Hypervisors

   • Content Analysis (CAS) VA Supported Hypervisors

3. Register Your Interest (Direct Customers): For any critical business requirements, Contact Broadcom Support to register your interest in vSphere 9 support. This helps the product management team prioritize future roadmap development.
