Error: "One or more vCenter instances run a version that exceeds the version of the VCF Operations instance that manages them" observed post-vCenter patch in VCF 9.1

Issue/Introduction

After patching vCenter to comply with security advisory in VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) 9.1 environments, the following alert banner appears in the vCenter:
"One or more vCenter instances run a version that exceeds the version of the VCF Operations instance that manages them. To avoid service interruption, upgrade the VCF Operations instance to 9.1.0.0."

Environment

• VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) 9.1
• vCenter 9.1

Cause

• The alert is cosmetic and caused by a version validation miscalculation between the patched vCenter and the VCF Operations instance.
• There is no functional impact.

Resolution

1. Ignore the alert message. No configuration changes or service restarts are required.
2. Targeted to be fixed in vCenter future release.
