vCenter Server 9.x: Updates not displayed in VAMI update tab

Issue/Introduction

When checking for updates in the vCenter Server Appliance Management Interface (VAMI) on port 5480, no available updates are displayed, even if a newer version is known to exist.

Cause

The vCenter Server Appliance is configured with an outdated or incorrect repository URL in the VAMI update settings. This prevents the appliance from successfully fetching the latest update manifests.

Note: For 9.1 the specified URL has been changed and does not require the version at the end of the URL

Resolution

1. Log in to the vCenter Server Appliance Management Interface (VAMI) at https://<vcenter-fqdn>:5480.
2. Navigate to the Update tab.
3. Click Settings.
4. Verify the currently configured Specified URL.
5. Update the URL to the correct format as specified in the official Broadcom guidance.

6. Click Save and verify if the updates are now populated under the Check Updates tab.
