Issue/Introduction

Introduction:
This article provides troubleshooting steps for issues encountered during the "Generate NSX Input for configuring NSX" task in the VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) workflow.

Symptoms:

  • The VCF workflow fails at the task: "Generate NSX Input for configuring NSX".
  • The error message in the UI is: "A problem has occurred on the server. Please retry or contact the service provider and provide the reference token." Reference Token: JD7DOA
  • The following error appears in log : /var/log/vmware/vcf/domainmanager/domainmanager.log
java.lang.IllegalStateException: Unable to find NSX Cluster details for domain [####]

Environment

VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) 9.1.0

Cause

This issue occurs when an NSX cluster is incorrectly marked as 'ACTIVATING' in the inventory database, preventing the workflow from retrieving the required cluster details.

Resolution

Important:

  • Ensure NSX is healthy before proceeding with database modifications. Complete all standard data collection steps before applying the database.
  • Take a snapshot of SDDC Manager VM.

For assistance contact Broadcom Support as this requires SDDC database modification.
