vLSR configuration/Registration fails with "Invalid privilege Ids" in VMware Live Recovery: Protection and Recovery 9.1

Issue/Introduction

Symptoms

When attempting to register or reconfigure a VMware Live Recovery (LSR) 9.0.5 appliance with vCenter Server 9.1 (deployed as part of VCF 9.x), the operation fails with the following error in the vSphere Client:

A specified parameter was not correct: Invalid privilege Ids [IntercomNamespace.Read, Observability.Admin, IntercomNamespace.Write, vSphereClient.UtilizeVerificationCode]

Symptoms may also include:

• Site pairing fails to establish between Protected and Recovery sites.
• The appliance status shows as 'Disconnected' or 'Configuration Error' after a vCenter upgrade to 9.1.

Environment

• vCenter Server 9.1.0.0100
• VMware Live Recovery (LSR) 9.0.5.0100
• VCF Protection and Recovery 9.1

Cause

This issue is caused by a version incompatibility between the legacy vLSR 9.0.5 appliance and the vCenter 9.1 privilege definitions. vCenter 9.1 introduces updated namespaces (e.g., IntercomNamespace, Observability) that are not supported or mapped in the 9.0.5 build. The vCenter Server rejects the registration request because the appliance is requesting permissions that do not align with the 9.1 API schema.

Resolution

To resolve this issue, the VMware Live Recovery appliance must be upgraded to a version compatible with vCenter 9.1 / VCF 9.x. Refer:

1. Verify the current build numbers in the Broadcom Interoperability Matrix
2. Download and upgrade the appliance to version 9.1.0.0100. See Download Broadcom Products and Software to retrieve this release.
3. Following the upgrade, launch the Site Recovery UI and perform the 'Reconfigure' or 'Reconnect' workflow.
