Error: validate.py failed when upgrading HPE OneView Adapter in Aria Operations

Issue/Introduction

• Upgrading HPE OneView Adapter from version 2.5.x to 3.2.x fails.
• The installation process halts at the validation phase.
• Error message: Failed: The PAK action "validate" script "/usr/bin/python validate.py" failed.

Environment

• VMware Aria Operations 8.18.x

Cause

The upgrade path from legacy version 2.5.0.16 directly to 3.2.3 encounters incompatible validation logic in the older PAK structure, preventing the upgrade script from executing successfully.

Resolution

Perform a clean installation of the adapter:

1. Uninstall the existing HPE OneView Adapter version 2.5.0.16.
2. Download the latest HPE OneView Adapter (v3.2.3 or higher) from Broadcom Support Portal.
3. Perform a fresh installation of the new PAK file.
4. Reconfigure the adapter instances as needed.
