Error: VCF component install initialization. Status Failed during Log Management deployment in VCF Operations 9.1

Issue/Introduction

• Deployment of the Log Management component stops during the "Install VCF services runtime" step. The UI displays the error: VCF component install initialization. Status Failed
• Log Management installation failed after 5-6 hours.
  • The task on VCF Operations UI shows the following error messages.

    • Install components using SDDC lifecycle service" Failed
      Deploying VCF Component. Status: Failed

    • An unexpected error occurred in step install_sddc_lcm_components_ref. Reference Code: B06C0E0E. Please contact support with this reference code. Detail: SDDC lifecycle installation task #####  exceeded timeout.

Environment

• VCF Operations 9.1

Cause

1. Resource Sizing: The VCF Management Instance sizing (e.g., Simple/Small) is insufficient for the selected Log Management profile (e.g., Large).
2. FQDN Format: The hostname or FQDN contains uppercase or mixed-case letters, which are not supported for this component in 9.1.

Resolution

1. Verify the sizing profile of the VCF Management instance.
2. Scale the environment to a compatible resource level, such as HA-Large.
3. Re-deploy using an all-lowercase FQDN (e.g., log-mgmt.example.com ).
4. If the issue persists, run the remediation script from KB 441858 using Option 1 to clear stale metadata from the 9.0 environment.
