Error: VXR028008 ALARM SSL certificate is within 30 days of expiring on VxRail

Issue/Introduction

• In the vSphere Client UI, a VxRail cluster reports the following proactive certificate alarm:

VXR028008 ALARM SSL certificate is within 30 days of expiring

• Navigating to Cluster > Configure > VxRail > Certificate to see that the VxRail Manager certificate expires in less than 30 days.
• The alarm remains active even if vCenter Server certificates are valid.

Environment

• VMware vCenter Server 
• VCF 5.x 
• vSAN 8.x 

Cause

The VxRail Manager automated health monitoring system triggers this proactive warning when the active SSL certificate lifecycle enters the 30-day expiration window. 

Resolution

Engage Dell Technical Support to perform the VxRail Manager certificate renewal procedure.
The VxRail Manager appliance and its integrated hardware lifecycle operations are proprietary Dell components. Broadcom Global Support does not provide procedural support, root access troubleshooting, or certificate generation for Dell VxRail Manager appliances.
