Remediation message references vSphere 7 documentation during vCenter upgrade in VCF Operations 9.1

Issue/Introduction

When a vCenter upgrade fails in VCF Operations 9.1, the remediation message incorrectly directs users to legacy vSphere 7.0 documentation instead of current product resources.

Symptoms:

• vCenter upgrade via SDDC Manager fails during the SET REPO stage.
• The UI displays the following remediation message:

Remediation Message: Set the repository for update with the correct URL and retry the upgrade.  Refer to the documentation https://docs.vmware.com/en/VMware-vSphere/7.0/com.vmware.vcenter.upgrade.doc/GUID-CC0FAB44-E7F1-41C8-9313-DC7D90417039.html for configuring the repository.

 

Environment

• VCF Operations 9.1
• vCenter Server 9.1

Cause

 A VCF Operations 9.1 Software defect in the remediation message string mapping causes the UI to display a legacy vSphere 7.0 remediation link for repository configuration errors.

Resolution

This issue is currently under investigation by engineering. Disregard the vSphere 7.0 documentation link provided in the message.
