Manually retrieve Software Bill of Materials (SBOM) for Tanzu Application Service

Issue/Introduction

This article has the instructions on how to retrieve the Software Bill of Materials (SBOM) for Tanzu Application Service (TAS).

Environment

• VMware Tanzu Application Service (TAS)
• Broadcom Support Portal

Resolution

To manually retrieve the SBOM, follow these steps:

1. Log in to the Broadcom Support Portal.
2. Go to the Tanzu Product Metadata downloads page.
3. Expand Product SBOMs v2.
4. Download the most recent date-stamped sboms.zip file.
5. Extract the contents of sboms.zip to find the specific TAS version file (e.g., tas-10.2.9.zip).
6. Run the following commands to extract the JSON SBOM files:

   unzip tas-10.2.9.zip
   unzip -o '*.zip'
