Issue/Introduction

• Creating a new VPC fails with the following error:

  Found errors in the request. Please refer to the related errors for details.
  
  [Routing] Insufficient resources to do auto allocation in edge cluster ID of pool type LB_ALLOCATION_POOL because of below reason(s).
  [Routing] Node(s) [EdgeTransportNode/ID, EdgeTransportNode/ID] don't have enough capacity to allocate.

• Already existing VPCs are not impacted.
• Native (NSX) Load Balancer instances are already configured on the Edge cluster.
• Network Container Plugin (NCP) may also be used.
• Verification API: Use the following API endpoint to review all LB node usages. The output includes the specific node_path:

  GET /policy/api/v1/infra/lb-node-usage-summary?include_usages=true

Environment

VMware NSX 9.0.x

VMware VCF 9.0.x

Cause

• The load balancer (LB) capacity on the edge nodes has reached its maximum limit.
• A VPC can be configured with at most one load balancer.. 
  
  

Resolution

To resolve this issue and allow for further LB deployments, please perform one of the following options:

1. Add more nodes into the existing edge clusters.
2. Enlarge the current Edge node size to a higher tier. Resize NSX Edge Node

NOTE: Resizing the Edge Node can impact existing Load Balancer (LB) traffic. Please ensure this procedure is carried out strictly within an approved Edge VM maintenance window.
