How to Trigger an Inventory Sync in VCF Operations

Issue/Introduction

Users may need to manually trigger an inventory synchronization in VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) Operations to ensure that specific component data is up-to-date and accurately reflects the current state of the environment.

Environment

VCF Operations 9.x 

Resolution

  • Log in to the VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) Operations user interface (UI) using an account with the appropriate administrative privileges.

  • In the left navigation pane, navigate to Fleet Management > Lifecycle > VCF Management > Components.

  • Locate and select  the specific component you want to sync.

  • Click the Trigger Inventory Sync button, and then click Submit in the confirmation dialog box.

  • Monitor the task to ensure the inventory sync completes successfully.

Note: If the inventory sync fails, review the task details for specific error messages. Common failures are typically related to expired certificates, invalid passwords, or general infrastructure connectivity issues.  Please reach out to Broadcom support
