Issue/Introduction

  • When upgrading VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) from version 9.0.2 to 9.1, the Deploy VCF Management Components task fails.
  • The Fleet Manager reports an error during the Log Management discovery or import phase:
    Failed to discover component of type 'OPS_LOGS'. '401 Unauthorized on POST request for "https://<FQDN>:9543/api/v1/sessions": "{"errorMessage":"Invalid credentials or account is locked.","errorCode":"FIELD_ERROR"

Environment

  • VCF Log management 9.x
  • VCF Operations 9.x

Resolution

  1. Reset the admin account as per Reset and unlock the local admin account in VCF Operations for Logs 
  2. Use the script provided on the following page: "Deploy VCF Management Components" task fails during "Import VCF Operations in Fleet Lifecycle" subtask
  3. Follow any additional advice that the script provides
