Issue/Introduction

When you attempt to search for an object using wildcards within the task picker of the Schedule (JSCH) editor, the search results do not return the expected objects. This issue occurs after upgrading to specific versions of the Automic Web Interface (AWI).

Symptoms:

  • Wildcard characters (e.g., *) do not function when searching for objects to replace or add in the JSCH editor.
  • The picker fails to filter results based on the wildcard pattern provided.

Environment

  • Product: CA Automic Workload Automation
  • Component: Automic Web Interface (AWI)
  • Version: 24.4.1 and higher

Cause

This was investigated under DE177889 and resulted into determining that this is a feature request, not a defect. The current substring (containsIgnoreCase) behavior is intentional and consistent across all pickers.
The issue affects multiple pickers within the AWI where search patterns were not being correctly processed.

Resolution

Modifying the current behavior would very likely break different pickers so it was decided to cover this topic by a Story/feature as several pickers must be considered and the compatibility with Integrations / RA solutions must be achieved.

This will be done in a future version via the feature F64810: Wildcards can be used in pickers
