The Symantec Messaging Gateway (SMG) Control Center dashboard displays virus definitions as outdated even after a successful LiveUpdate. This issue typically occurs after an appliance upgrade or if a scanner is decommissioned, leaving stale data in the system.

Symantec Messaging Gateway (SMG) 10.8 and higher
Cause
Orphaned or stale records exist in the internal database tables for scanners that are no longer active in the environment.
Resolution
- Collect a configuration backup, including report data from the Control Center.
- Contact support for manual pruning of database records.
