Issue/Introduction

This article provides the steps to collect an ESX log bundle using the VMware Host Client in ESX 9.1 or later.

The Host Client UI has changed starting with version 9.1. For instructions on previous versions, see: Generate a Support Bundle in the VMware Host Client

Environment

VMware vSphere ESX 9.1 or later

Resolution

  1. Access the Host Client of the target ESX host.
  2. Log in using root credentials.
  3. Click ACTIONS > Export Logs.
  4. A new browser tab will open. Enter the root credentials again and click Log in button.
  5. Wait for the log bundle download to complete.
