Issue/Introduction

Users searching for VMware ESXi 9.x or vCenter 9.x installation media may find that these versions are missing from the legacy vSphere download pages in the Broadcom Support Portal. This article provides the correct navigation path to locate these binaries.

Environment

  • Broadcom Support Portal
  • VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) 9.x
  • VMware vSphere Foundation (VVF) 9.x

Cause

As of the release of VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) 9.0, individual component pages (such as the legacy vSphere download page) no longer host version 9.x binaries. All version 9.x components (ESXi, vCenter, NSX, etc.) are consolidated into unified product bundles under the "VMware Cloud Foundation" or "VMware vSphere Foundation" categories.

Resolution

Fixed in release 9.0 and higher. See Download Broadcom products and software for general steps

Log in to the Broadcom Support portal.
Use the dropdown next to your username and select VMware Cloud Foundation.
Click My Downloads on the left-hand menu.
Search for VMware Cloud Foundation 9 or VMware vSphere Foundation 9 based on entitlement.
Select the desired release (e.g., 9.0.0.0 or 9.1).
Locate the VMware ESX or VMware vCenter component and click View Group to download the ISOs.
For OEM-specific images (e.g., Dell), click the Custom ISOs tab within the same release page.
