Issue/Introduction

This article clarifies the supportability and configuration requirements for using centralized authentication (Active Directory/LDAP) and custom naming conventions for the IGA Xpress service account.

Question

Is it supported to use a centrally managed domain user (e.g., Active Directory or LDAP) following a custom naming convention for the IGA Xpress (igx) user instead of a local operating system account?

Environment

IGA Xpress 2.0

Identity Governance and Administration (IGA) 15.0 SP1 and higher

Resolution

Starting with IGA 15.0 SP1 and IGA Xpress 2.0, centralized authentication for the platform service account is supported.

Centralized Auth: Integration with Microsoft Active Directory (AD) and LDAP is supported for the service account authentication.
Naming Convention: The account name is not restricted to 'igx'. A centrally managed domain user following organizational naming conventions can be used, provided it complies with standard Linux user-naming requirements.
Configuration: This can be configured during the initial installation or updated post-installation.
