Capacity enforcement graph synchronization failure in VMware Live Recovery (VLCR)

Issue/Introduction

VMware Live Recovery (VLCR) protected capacity graph fails to refresh immediately following storage reclamation or snapshot deletion. This synchronization delay between the local Cloud File System (SCFS) and the capacity enforcement layer can result in false capacity overages and blocked data replication.

Environment

  • VMware Live Recovery 7.27.x
  • VMware Live Cyber Recovery (VLCR)

Cause

Synchronization failure or update delay within the background capacity graph database. While local block storage is cleared after manual or ad-hoc snapshot deletion (such as those generated during DR testing), the space reclamation metadata may fail to publish to the subscription enforcement layer in real-time.

Resolution

Targeted to be fixed in release v28 and higher. See Download Broadcom products and software for steps to download this release.

Until the fix is applied, use the following workarounds to remediate a replication block:

  1. Verify active system usage inside the local SCFS database against the cloud enforcement module.
  2. Contact Broadcom Support to request a manual backend synchronization of the protected capacity graph metrics.
  3. Request a temporary extension of the subscription grace period to unblock replication queues immediately.
  4. Ensure all manual and ad-hoc snapshots (e.g., da-vmc-*) are fully scrubbed from the local persistence layer.
